Back in the Garage

COVID may have slowed the world down, but Life does go on and unfortunately so do the things that go Crash!

Isn't it ironic that Things that are not on the 'To Do List' have a way of placing themselves on the top of it?

We have known for a while that the Garage door needed some maintenance, but back in late February it gave up the Ghost.

One of the cables that pull the door up has snapped.

Fortunately for us - Bessie was OUTSIDE the garage when it happened.

Getting it repaired involved a lot of  measurements and Photos and Phone calls which ultimately proved futile as they no longer make parts for this model.

We found we could still use the door but - EVERYONE in the neighbourhood knows when we do!

A new door was ordered and we were told it would be a 6 week wait.

8 weeks later...

A delay we are getting oh too used to -

The Installers AND their back up team both tested positive to COVID and had to reschedule.

The new door is now on and is QUIET - oh so Quiet!

The only thing left to do is to "Spiffy up" the front to 'Make Look Good' but that is a project for another day!

Postscript:

When I started writing this entry I had a feeling of Déjà Vu and sure enough a search through the Photo archives unearthed this photo - Taken March 2018.  I suppose 4 years from a repair that "Might not last" wasn't too bad!

  1. A temporary repair that lasts 4 years doesn't sound too bad. Congrats on getting the new door installed!
