Jemima's Next Adventure

Jemima was my DD's Favourite Companion and together they went on many Adventures.  They were Inseparable and When DD grew up, Jemima took up residence on the Laundry Shelf waiting for the day when she would once again be called to Go on an Adventure.

And Before going on an Adventure - You must of Course Look your best!

Such was the case with Jemima.
* * *

The other day I took her off the shelf and,
after explaining to her that she did in fact NOT look her best -

She needed a Bath!

We started with Washing her hair.

Years of Play, Dirt Dust and Memories fell out of those Golden Locks.

I was encouraged and She was slightly Impressed!

So we decided that, seeing it was a Very Hot day outside. A Girls Spa Day would be Fun.

After all - Who wants to look like a Chimney Sweep when going on an Adventure?

When seeing the "Special Spa Soak" Jemima was a little concerned that She would Vanish all away -
But I assured her it was JUST the dirt we wanted Gone.

I left her to herself to Soak up the Pampering!

When I returned, Oh My Goodness!

The Little Face with the Bright Eyes that I remembered was smiling up at me.

"I am ready for my Spin in the Salad Bowl now!"

And once she was fully dry -
It was time to find her Other Companion - Ted.

And together Ted and Jemima are ready to meet a New Little Girl and Go on More Adventures!

Life in Lockdown ?

Still waiting for  all that "Spare Time" to materialise.

I must admit to quipping that "We are waiting for the Weeds to grow - so we can pull them out!"

Although, there are plenty at DD's to keep us occupied and still keep within the Physical Distance rules.

(There's a Gate here somewhere....)

Back at home I have been getting on with some projects
that were not on "The List"

We recovered the small Ironing board - padding out with some reflective batting - I will see how that goes before tackling the larger 1800 x 600 Quilt board.

I also dusted off the Over-locker and got it Working.
(I can't remember the last time I used it!)

Next to Elbow its way to the top of the List is our
"Well who says we can't have fun while having a takeaway Coffee in the Car" project.

Basically it is a very narrow Table Cloth,
Or an exceptionally Long Serviette...

Either way it is an effective Crumb Catcher for Brekkie on the Go.

Today was the first "Let's have Breakfast Out" day in a month - Yes folks it has ONLY been a month!

Finally I have been able to finish a Project that was in danger of becoming a UFO.

A Ballet Bag for my Great Niece who turns 5 on May 4.

Now all I have to do is work out How to get it to Her!

As I was about to finish this Post, DH presented me with this.

The Rose does not know what is happening in the World other than the Air is clearer and the Rain sweeter and so it continues to bring Joy and Pleasure with its delicate fragrance.

Happy Sunday Everyone.
Stay Safe.

Another WORK that is IN PROGRESS - - -

Time to let you in on a little something that has been happening "Behind the Scenes" around our place.
As most readers will be aware we had a couple of weddings a few months ago - and with Weddings also comes the inevitable moving out of home and setting up house of your own.

DD hasn't actually moved out yet as just before the wedding they bought a Block of Land.

I thought it was somewhat significant that the first flower to bloom in her future garden was a Scotch Thistle!

A reminder to her of her Scottish heritage.

Not a lot has been happening and multiple photographs of an empty patch of dirt is not exciting at all - but that all changed this week when we got word that work was starting.

Last Wednesday we were told the slab had been laid and by the time we got there on Saturday morning ....

Half the house had been built!

It is only a small house but it is on a large triangular block

Which means they have a HUGE garden to plan
both on the side - -

and out the back

WOW - what a lot of work they (we) have ahead.
Planning a garden from scratch!!
