Happy Thanksgiving

"Do you have any Thanksgiving Themed Cookie Cutters?
They are doing a Thing at work next Week"

Lets just jump back a week when I got frustrated with not being able to find my Cake Decorating things when I needed them - So after Much Sorting, Many trips to Bunnings and a Huge Spreadsheet later and I can categorically say - No !

We don't 'Do' Thanksgiving in Australia so I was left searching the Cookie Stores for Halloween Pumpkin Cutters or anything I could use instead.

I found this Beautiful Cutter and Imprint at Sweetly Impressed (Echuca Victoria).

I also ordered a set of "Fancy Pants" Script letters from Cookie Stamp Co. (Perth W.Aust)

These were exactly what I needed and arrived in 2 Days!

So I was "Good to Go"

Cookies Baked -

Time to turn them into something more Interesting.

I have had a little experience with Imprinting Fondant, but not with 3D Printed Cutters and Perspex Stamps!

I have however, had a LOT of experience in hand colouring Fondant & Sugarpaste (mainly flowers).

Dusting the plain coloured fondant with a darker petal dust started to bring these to life.

I was not able to source the beautiful Floral leaves and flourish that the online Sample had but,
I was able to improvise with what I did have for the Pumpkin flowers & leaves.

DDIL#2 was delighted and happily took them to Work for their 'Thanksgiving Party'

There was just ONE problem:
They all said
"They were Too Pretty to Eat"
and so they didn't!

Oh Good Grief.......

Easter 2024

Seven Years Ago we were in Austria and we Climbed a Mountain.

There were many others on the Path that day.  It was not an easy climb and sometimes the path was not obvious. Once I was called back by another traveller as I had strayed onto an unsafe route.

There were places to Rest or to go off to see other things, each one distracting us from our goal of reaching The Cross on the Summit.

I wondered how many of those travellers knew the Story of Pilgrims Progress.

The Spiritual Significance of Placing our Backpacks (Burdens) at the Foot of the Cross and Resting there was not lost on us that day.

Neither was the fact that the Journey Home was going to be easy.  (We did see someone slip and fall on the way back).

But IF we place our Hand into the Hand of God
It will be Better than a Light and Safer than a Known Way.

So as we Celebrate a Time with Chocolate and Hot Cross Buns,
Let us not loose Sight of that "Old Rugged Cross"

500 Club

DH recently achieved a Milestone.

He has been Rolling up his Sleeve for the Blood Bank since before I met him.

It's something he does quietly - But he DOES like his Milestones!

Today he got a Shiny New Pin.

Some just expect Blood to be there when they need it without giving the process a thought.

Others are Thankful Every Day.

Give Blood if you can.  If not - Support those that Do.

Happy Thanksgiving

For all my Friends and Readers in the USA
I hope you have had a very Happy Day.

When I look at this piece of fabric,
a remnant of the first ever Quilt material I've bought.
I am thankful that it took me into a Fellowship that spans the Globe.
One that cuts through the barriers of Race and Colour and Language
 of Age and Experience.

And I am thankful for the friends I have made.
