Easter 2024

Seven Years Ago we were in Austria and we Climbed a Mountain.

There were many others on the Path that day.  It was not an easy climb and sometimes the path was not obvious. Once I was called back by another traveller as I had strayed onto an unsafe route.

There were places to Rest or to go off to see other things, each one distracting us from our goal of reaching The Cross on the Summit.

I wondered how many of those travellers knew the Story of Pilgrims Progress.

The Spiritual Significance of Placing our Backpacks (Burdens) at the Foot of the Cross and Resting there was not lost on us that day.

Neither was the fact that the Journey Home was going to be easy.  (We did see someone slip and fall on the way back).

But IF we place our Hand into the Hand of God
It will be Better than a Light and Safer than a Known Way.

So as we Celebrate a Time with Chocolate and Hot Cross Buns,
Let us not loose Sight of that "Old Rugged Cross"

Family

A time for family to get together

Sunday:  Together with Our DDIL's Parents,
We had the joy of participating in the Dedication Service of 2 of our Grand daughters.

(Our promise to "Bring up a Child in the Way they should go" Proverbs 22:6 )

... and on the other end of Life's Journey

Monday:  We said Goodbye to DH's Brother-in Law.  It was a lovely service - planned years ago.
And a time to catch up with Family from all over that we don't normally get to see at Christmas.

Lance would have been thrilled at the turn out - he loved a Get together!

Little Sister to GD#2 Hazel

She has had a rough introduction to the World
(The result of her impatience to get here.)

It has been a Week of constant Updates
But she is making progress.

We can't visit her yet but Plenty of Photos and
The hospital even had a Live Video Feed to her Crib!
Time for Grandma-Grandpa cuddles when she is home.

Easter Sunday

Four Years ago we sat in Beautiful Strasbourg Cathedral and listened to Sermon delivered entirely in French.  It is an experience I will never forget.

Today, the Message is the Same whatever the language it is delivered in.

He is Risen - Hallelujah!

Thinking of the People of Strasbourg.

'tis the Season

Christmas this year has been different for many.

For us - we are fortunate to not be separated from our Immediate Family and this year marked many Firsts as we Celebrated the Birth of Our Lord.

First as Grandparents - to watch Our Children now enjoy their First Christmas as Parents

First time to host Christmas
and "Play Santa" in his new Home.

and for us -
Our First Christmas as
"Empty Nesters"

Just us and the Cat
(who we suspect may have something to do with the Tree ending up on the floor....)

This Christmas will certainly be one to Remember!
"Merry Christmas Everyone".

When you are Lost for Words

45 years ago I bought a little Devotional Book.

Each time something unwanted  happened in my Life I set about to look for it - but to no avail.

Today I found it.

So I feel that TODAY is the right time to post the Poem that kept me looking for that little Book.

"Security"

Isn't it good to Know
When all roads are dead ends and
all skies are overcast and
all dreams are Nightmares and
all hills are Mountains . . .

Isn't it Good to Know
when all Faith has oozed out
and there is No Place to Stand
that
"Underneath are The Everlasting Arms"

Easter Sunday 2020

Today is Easter Sunday -
A Day when we Celebrate Passover,
Or the Resurrection of Our Lord .

Maybe it is the Arrival of the Easter Bunny that has provided a welcome distraction from the current events.

However you are Celebrating this Day - Give a Thought to those on the Front Line who are separated from their Families so they can Care for Yours.

We can't shake their hand -
BUT we Can

(Click the Link to find out How)

*"After consulting with Healthcare professionals - the most common request for support was
"A Cup of Coffee"
The Appreciation Page allows us to pay for a Coffee for Hospital Staff in Various Locations in AUS (City and Regional) as well as NZ.

Speaking personally, Our 'Coffee Budget' is looking fairly healthy at the moment.
And although we live in Melbourne, we are more than happy to shout a coffee for a Nurse in Hobart or a Doctor in Dubbo (NSW).

We can do this!
