Day Four:
The final phase of the Chimney removal (for me) was the best part.
Having a Plasterer come and finish off the patching.
A job I would have done myself but this time, didn't have to.
And, while he was here - waiting for the plaster to dry.
He also patched the holes in the ceiling where our old Air-conditioning Vents had been removed.
A job I was certainly NOT looking forward to doing.
So Thankful for the Kindness - It did my Mental health a World of Good!

Day Five:
Was spent Filling in the Gaps.
Outside, the Eave Linings were patched.
The only reminder that there was once a Chimney here.
It was done this way to avoid removing or damaging the existing Asbestos Eave Lining which is best left undisturbed.
Inside, They matched our Tasmanian Oak Floor with Reclaimed Polished boards and laid them in the Gap left by the Hearth.
Looks Good.
On a final inspection I commented one join was sitting a bit proud of the others.
"Your floor wasn't quite level but don't worry about that - It will get fixed when you Polish Your Boards".
Um...?
That Wasn't on the List . . . . .
It all looks good! Except that floor issue... Is there any way to fix that without re-doing the whole floor?
ReplyDeleteWe are thrilled with the whole process. As far as the floor repair - we have been told that the section can be done without doing the lot.
