Brought to you by the Colour

Green.
Little Seedling to be exact.
I personally would be worried if any "Little Seedlings" came up in this colour but as a Mid Olive it works well for a Study.

This was the first of the Feature walls I was asked to paint.

The Next room to get a Feature Wall was the Main Bedroom.  I must admit it is the most Adventurous Colour I have ever put on a wall - but in a new Modern Townhouse it is Stunning.

This is "New Tropics"

And "New Tropics" MUST be the colour of the Month as it is EVERYWHERE!

On a recent trip to Ikea I found it in Paintings, on Bathroom Walls and Even Glassware.

So now I can 'Hang up my Paintbrush" - for the moment at least, and the Moving in process begins.

30 years of Stuff - starting with the "Great Wall of Board Games"

It is going to take a while!

PS:
This has been the First post using the "New Blogger" platform - can't say I am thrilled with it but apparently, we will have to get used to it!

Oh what a Beautiful Morning....

I Love Foggy mornings!
There is a promise of a Beautiful Day ahead.

The Playground across the road is now "Open for Business" and will be in peak demand today!

And in the Garden, the usually hidden Spiderwebs are festooned with tiny water droplets.

Autumn truly is a Magical Time.

Colour Inspiration

I may have been "Driven Up the Wall" albeit with paintbrush in hand recently, but that does not stop the Quilter in me from being on the lookout for the Next Quilt!

A week or so back the Nerines were cheekily showing off amid the daisies.

Splashing Hot Pink through the various shades of Green.

These ones have tiny flecks of Gold on the edge of the petals.

And then, This week I came across this incredible Mural.

It is part of a much bigger Public Art piece in a Hidden Gem of a Shopping Street precinct.

Colour Inspiration for my Niece's Quilt?

Hot Pink, Purple, Blue and Green with just a splash of Gold - Sounds Perfect for this particular 6 year Old!

Today's Colour Is ...

SILVER TEA SERVICE

One of the 50 (Million) Shades of Grey.

A definite improvement on the Off White Walls that met a White Ceiling, that did weird things to my eyesight.

I need Horizons, and with no Cornices this is neither an Easy or Quick paint job!

There was a bit of "Trial and Error" in the process, but have settled on a method of Cutting in with a wide flexible 'Patch/Scraper' that keeps the paint off the ceiling.
The Job has also been made a LOT easier with "My New Toys".

I now have TWO of these beauties.

Fully extended they are 900 mm high - for my height it is just right to reach the ceiling.

And they lock together to form longer platforms.

However, I am really excited about the possibilities of using these in the Sewing Room.
I have ideas of using them to take my big Ironing Board or adding a top to lay out Quilts.

I am sure it will not be the last you will see of these!

And just before I go - Here is the Surprise find for today.

Stuffed into the wall behind the power points were two plastic bags per power point.

Someone obviously has not heard of RECYCLING!

Volunteering - Again...

Way back in May 2016 I wrote a post with this photo.

The text on the mug reads "Stop me before I volunteer again"

Maybe I should ACTUALLY take heed of the words - for yes folks - Here we go again!

Last Wednesday it was answering a call for help to find the garden at DD's home.

Everything went well until one of "Her Girls" made a Bee-line to the hive through my hair.
This time I ended up at the Doctors with a severely swollen face....

Thought for the day - Get a Gardening Veil!

Friday - DS#2 received the Keys to his first Home.

And a new Coffee Machine.

This Wednesday there was a 'Fridge to install.

Apparently "Deliver and Install" does not apply to Water/Ice maker fridges and we had to DIY!

(I am quite sure we are becoming "Tight Spot Specialists!)

Thursday - Ah Thursday is brought to you by the Colour "Fluro Yellow - with accents of Blue"

I will paint but am drawing the line at doing anything to the woodwork.

And after crawling around the floor all day and feeling like I had done a million squats -

My Fitbit declared I had just 3 Active Hours all day.

Humph!

Oh well - as they say "Tomorrow is another Day" and HOPEFULLY it will see some other Colour come to Play.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day came a little early for me this year when my DS#1 called on Friday and declared that he was in the neighbourhood on Business and going to do a "Sneaky Drive-by" to say Hello.

Flowers and a Gift was delivered at the front gate
with promises of "Real Hugs" as soon as we can.

This Morning I went down THAT rabbit hole
and ended up laughing so much I had to share.

Catching Up

Life in Lock-down has been far from boring.

Some of the local shops are making tentative steps to reopening.

The "Great Toilet Paper Debacle of 2020" is over.
And restrictions on grocery products are slowly being lifted.

In the meantime I have had my heart firmly planted in 2019 - memories flooding back with every block.

All 365 are now together.
It is certainly colourful in a Temperate Teal kind of way.

All that is left to do is the borders.

And another 10 special blocks for when we were on Holidays to be worked in somewhere.

My Sewing Room has been conscripted to "Study from Home" needs for Three Days a week so that DIL2B can continue with her Theatre Costume Design Course.

So, While I can't sew.

I have pulled out my knitting bag.

And pulled out my knitting and yes, pulled out my hair as well when I realise I am SO rusty I have to look at Video tutorials to remember basic stitches.

Maybe I should start that EPP project instead?
