...Well, not a lot actually! Today has been one of those days that Melbourne is 'famous' for - A 4 seasons in one day kind of day.
So as the weather became more unsettled - so did I. Having to keep off your feet isn't as glamorous as it sounds. I feel like a Pack-rat pulling things into my nest, as bits and pieces pile up, within reach around me.
Which brings me to my Work in Progress. I have got back into working on my Heart's Desire.
Today I have been auditioning fabrics for the petals of the 'posy' in the centre of the first border.
I don't have a lot of shades to play with so, first I made a straight blue on blue...
Then I found a nice piece that reminded me of the Northern Lights
And just for fun I thought I'd mix and match them. (This one isn't a serious contender).
What do you think?
I vote for the first one..... something about its brightness appeals to me. It seems to stand out nicely. PatS
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy nice that you are working away at your HD Those borders look terrific I love all three versions of flowers, you could use both of them on the borders.
ReplyDeleteI really love the two blues the Northern Lights I feel doesnot do your work justice.
ReplyDeleteJust love WIP wish I could join.
As much as I love the northern lights fabric, I think the first option works better with the border fabric
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, the weather has been a erratic, hasn't it? I hang out the washing and as soon as I sit down to do some sewing -thunder, rain and lightening. I bring the wet washing in and the sun comes out and its suddenly warm again!!
ReplyDeleteThere I go, talking weather again!
More importantly, beautiful beautiful beautiful block! I actually think all fabrics can work in this block, but I do prefer the first one, it is just that little bit brighter. Very effective and I like the blue shading it creates from lighter going darker.
Can't wait to see more progress on your HD !!
